During
the 1994-1995 Rotary year the Rio Rico Tubac Club
split into two clubs. Both clubs were chartered as separate entities.

Special Accomplishments:
* Club membership increased by 50%,
* The Club hosted a local Little League team,
* Donated and installed the Rotary Fountain at the new Rio Rico High School,
* Club members sold concessions at the little league games with our Rotary
trailer,
* We installed Rotary “Drive Safely” signs at the New Schools,
* Sponsored the new Tubac Rotary Club,
* Sponsored the Winter Hoops basketball league,
* And the Club sent 2 delegates, Denny and Val Scanlan, to the 50th Anniversary
of the United Nations.
Our year started with a Family Installation Dinner/Picnic at
the Santa Cruz Ranch on June 26, 1994. Abe Brown and Brenton
Smith treated us to a Cannon Ball diving contest in the pool.
On September 14th, we were treated with a tour of the New, almost
finished Rio Rico High School. Our big fund raiser, Community
Days was Sept 30, Oct 1 & 2nd.
On October 8th club members jumped into the team Scanlan’s
Motorhome to tailgate at the University of Arizona’s home
Football game. On October 29th we helped host the Haunted House
at the school’s Halloween Carnival. There were 600 children
that went through the Haunted House.
November 23rd, we distributed Thanksgiving food baskets. Our
annual Christmas party was held in the Montura Resturant at the
Tubac Country Club. We were joined by the new Tubac Rotary Club
for this party. Our own past president, Clyde Grey was our host.
On February 12th, We celebrated the 8th Anniversary party of
the Rio Rico Tubac Club and the 1st Charter Dinner Party of the
Rio Rico Rotary Club. On March 19th, we sponsored the 5th annual
Kite festival at the Mountain View School. It was combined with
the championship games of Youth Hoops. There were people everywhere,
and 20-30 kites in the air. On April 23rd we hosted the GSE team
with a Picnic at Pena Blanca Lake.
The District Conference was held May 12 & 13 in Tucson at
the Ramada Inn. On May 24th, Dick Tomey, Head Football Coach
of the Arizona Wildcats spoke to our Rotary Club. On June 10th,
at the Rio Rico Resort Ginger hosted the International Auction.
We had items from around the globe, and many items from the University
of Arizona.
